Chequan Lewis is an attorney at Baker Botts LLP. His practice focuses on complex business litigation in both state and federal courts. Prior to law school, Chequan spent four years in business management with a leading industrial/commercial supplier. He had various responsibilities ranging from process optimization and operations supervision to firmwide human resources management.
While in law school, Chequan interned with the United States Attorney’s Offices in the Northern District of Texas and in the District of Massachusetts. He also spent time working with the Office of the Mayor of Dallas and the City of Dallas Office of Economic Development where he analyzed economic growth and revitalization opportunities in Southern Dallas.
He currently serves as a board member for SMU’s Simmons Young Leaders in Education and the Baker Botts Employee Relief Organization. He is also the Downtown Representative for the City of Dallas’s Urban Design Committee and a member of the 2014-2015 class of the Mayor’s Star Council. Chequan was also a member of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers Leadership Class of 2013-14.
He is an active volunteer with Julius Dorsey Elementary School. Chequan is also an active member of the Concord Church Career Network Ministry where he provides help with resume writing, interviewing skills, and job search strategies for attendees throughout the Metroplex.
